About
Howdy! I am a Texas born and raised girl that was transplanted in North Carolina in 2010. It has been a goal of mine to work with military, military families, and those dealing with various mental health issues. I am a graduate of The University of Colorado-Colorado Springs with a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Human Services. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in North Carolina and a National Board Certified Counselor (NBCC).
I have been trained in many researched, evidence based treatment protocols such as EMDR (Eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing), Dialectic Behavior (DBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral (TF-CBT), Mindfulness Stress Reduction, etc.
I specialize in helping people who experience PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, and ADHD. I utilize a mind, body, spirit approach for treatment.
If you are an individual, family, or couple struggling to cope with certain situations, please allow me to be part of your story for healing and assist you in learning different skills on how to make changes in your life.

Experience
I started counseling upon completion of my Master's degree in 2009 at a Residential Treatment Facility in Canon City, CO. I worked with at-risk youth at this time. Soon after starting, I was asked if I wanted to move to NC as the military was telling my boyfriend, at the time, he had to go.

I chose to move to NC. Upon moving to NC, I started working as an Intensive-In Home Team Lead in Sanford as well as an outpatient clinician. During that time, I was under supervision by a wonder supervisor that peaked my interest in trauma and getting me closer to working with the military and their families. It was, after all, what I had dreamed about and wrote in my college papers. Later, there was an opportunity to join the agency where my supervisor worked, and I jumped at the chance. I started outpatient therapy.

I have been in outpatient therapy since 2010 and have continued to take opportunities to serve those who need some help with learning coping skills.
